Paonia is home to a wonderful series of festivals and events throughout the year!
May 16th - Chamber Office opening. The Chamber office will be opening its doors on May 16. Come down and renew your membership, update your information in our tourist displays, and meet our new office manager. We will be open Thursdays and Fridays 10 am – 12 pm, 1 pm – 3 pm through the Fall. We are looking for volunteers to help us staff the office 10 am to 2 pm on Saturdays. If you can volunteer for one or two Saturdays during this year please let us know!
May 18th - Hike XK Bar Ranch with Black Canyon Regional Land Trust on May 18, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm - Hike begins off Buckskin Pass Rd, 2.5 miles east of Crawford. Celebrate spring in the North Fork Valley with the Black Canyon Field Club. The owner of XK Bar Ranch will be leading a loop hike on a conserved ranch 2.5 miles outside Crawford. Enjoy service berry and mountain mahogany in bloom, and spectacular 360-degree views of the West Elk Mountains, Needle Rock, surrounding ranch lands and distant views of Grand Mesa. Each year, the Conservation Center hosts an annual float trip as a fundraiser and awareness builder for local river issues. The 14th Annual Float Trip will occur on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Save the date! Registration coming soon. We will be floating a new and exciting stretch on the Gunnison River – from Pleasure Park to the Orchard Take-Out, in the Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area (NCA).
May 22nd, Noon – 1 pm, Downtown Day Meeting. Chamber office 130 Grand Ave. Sidewalk sale, Bank lunches, restaurant specials, festive decorations for downtown Paonia? How can we bring even more folks and fun to downtown Paonia on Downtown Day, July 3rd? Let’s work together and come up with some fun ideas! If you have a business in town, please come!
May 25th - Delicious Orchards Memorial Day Weekend BBQ from 12-7pm and LIVE MUSIC by Subtle Ruckus from 5-7pm.
June 15-16th - North Fork Uncorked The wineries of the West Elks AVA are getting together for Father's Day weekend. You will be able to taste the new releases for 2013 at each winery. More information coming soon! June 25th - The Bike Tour Colorado will be coming to Paonia on June 25th. Over 1,000 people will be visiting in Town park, visiting downtown Paonia and eating at local restaurants. July 3-5th - Cherry Days Festival and Downtown Days Join us for our hometown parade, class reunions and festivities in Town Park July 4th and 5th. Cherry Days is organized by a new Cherry Days Forever Commitee! Downtown Days celebrates our downtown merchants on July 3rd - come on down for entertainment and support our local businesses! July 12th-14th- Colorado Lavender Festival Escape to the land of breathtaking lavender fields where farmers cultivate this beautiful, fragrant herb that has enchanted people for millennia. Pairing the Best of Colorado Wine with the Best of Colorado Cuisine. The Wineries of the West Elks AVA announce the fifth annual West Elks Wine Trail event. Each winery will feature food and wine pairings, with a focus on local foods. Each winemaker will enhance your tastings with two favorite selected recipes to complement their wines.
Kick off your weekend with a FREE CONCERT presented by Pickin' in the Park in Paonia’s wonderful Town Park.

September 26th - 29th Mountain Harvest Festival The annual Mountain Harvest Festival in Paonia is a wonderful community celebration of agriculture, art, music and life in general on Colorado's Western Slope, held in Paonia in the North Fork Valley, the Heart of the Western Slope. This festival draws people from around the West to share in the celebration, and features locally grown and produced agricultural products, including local beer and wine. Come learn about and meet local farmers, artists, musicians, craftsmen and performers from the Western Slope. Enjoy interesting workshops and tours.
